Dear GearHead Genius subscribers & casual viewers,

I’ve been meaning to write this for a while, because the support you’ve been giving this channel has been… genuinely unreal.

Sometimes I open the comments and it doesn’t even feel like “content” anymore. It feels like people. You are all people with real lives, showing up and taking time out of your day to leave something kind, thoughtful, or even honest. And I just want you to know I see it. I feel it. And I’m grateful in a way that’s honestly hard to put into words without sounding cheesy.

But there’s one thing I really want to clarify, because you deserve clarity.
I’m not going to give specific diagnostic recommendations for your personal vehicles in the comments. I’m not trying to be vague, but it’s deeply personal to your situation, and there is literally no ethical way to do that properly through a YouTube comment section. Two people can have the exact same make and model, with the exact same mileage, and still have completely different rust levels, electrical histories, maintenance records, and safety risks. So I don’t want to make false promises or say something that sounds confident but could genuinely impact your safety or your wallet in a negative way. That’s not what I’m here to do.

What this channel is really about is perspective.

I’m trying to shape the way you think about the automotive industry, dealerships, and mechanics, because that’s the part most people never get taught. It’s not always about “knowing exactly which wrench to turn.” There are entire worlds that exist that you will never enter unless something pulls you in. Like automotive engineering. If you’re not naturally interested in it and nobody around you talks about it, you can live your whole life just paying whatever the service advisor tells you to pay. People are busy and overwhelmed. They’re surviving. And if you don't intentionally step into the world of cars, it just never becomes part of your life.

So I want this channel to be that entry point for you.
And I know some of you are more advanced. You might watch a video and think, “This is basic,” or “This is useless for me,” or even, “This is AI so it’s probably fake.” I understand the skepticism. I really do.

Yes, this is an AI channel in the sense that I use AI to create the GearHead visuals, and I use different tools to help me with scripting & editing. I’m not trying to hide that. But I also think you can tell something very clearly if you’ve watched more than one video.

I’m not just throwing random visuals on a script. I go through the topics, I write, I review, I bring my real-world mechanic experience, and I make sure it actually makes sense. I care about coherence. I care about the flow. I care about not wasting your time. And I’m trying hard to differentiate this from the low-effort side of AI content, because I don’t want this channel to feel empty. I want it to feel intentional.

So if you’re here early, just know you’re not just watching videos. You’re supporting something I’m building carefully, and I don’t take that lightly.

Thank you for subscribing. Thank you for watching. Thank you for commenting. Thank you for defending the channel when people assume the worst. Thank you for giving this project a chance.

Love,
Your GearHead Brother 🔧
