De Mthuda, born Mthuthuzeli Gift Khoza in Vosloorus, South Africa, is a powerhouse in the Amapiano scene—a genre fusing house, jazz, and kwaito. Raised in a township buzzing with creativity, he evolved from a teenage DJ spinning at local gigs to an internationally celebrated producer. His passion for music, sparked early on, grew through dance and DJing before he dove into production, crafting a signature sound with jazzy chords and Amapiano’s iconic log drum.
 
His big break came in 2019 with "Shesha," a gold-certified hit with Njelic that lit up South African dance floors. From there, De Mthuda’s star soared.
