The Saturn V’s F-1 was the most powerful engine ever flown…  …but SpaceX looked at it and said “nah, not good enough.”  They completely ditched the old gas generator cycle and went full-flow staged combustion with Raptor.  Why throw away a proven legend?  Because this one change is the key to making Starship fully reusable… and getting us to Mars
