The Biomedical Imaging Unit (BIU) is a joint facility of the Faculty of Medecine, University of Southampton and the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). It is dedicated to high quality and high resolution imaging in 2D and 3D by light microscopy, electron microscopy and computed tomography as well as the analysis of those datasets We are located at University Hospital Southampton, some 2 miles from the main University Campus at Highfield and provide diagnostic electron microscopy services to UHS and other hospitals and research microscopy support to the Faculty of Medicine, the wider University, other universities, industry and artists.
