Sign of Five is the rebirth of Dropbeat Heartbeat, a rising pop-punk band that has been making huge (sound)waves in the local music scene with their debut EP titled “Gettin’ Outta Here". Founded in 2011 by childhood friends, Ro (Rozaihan Ramlan) and Matin Wallister, they were soon joined by 3 other like-minded and equally-talented musicians - Sham Ma'Arif, Andriel Fong and Fyq.

The Gettin' Outta Here EP was a huge success for Dropbeat Heartbeat, achieving runner-up position for the 'Best Rock Song 2013' category in the VIMA Asia Music Awards. The band also took the local music charts by storm with their radio-friendly hit song, 'Somebody Loved', which garnered 200,000 views in YouTube in less than 1 month. Local DJs, Elliot Danker from Power 95FM described Dropbeat Heartbeat as having a "fresh young vibe, with a touch of old school punk rock" while Ryan Wee from SAFRA radio, echoed that the band "bleeds its own flavour".
