From November 2012 thru March 2015, Ernie Whiteside wrote the Vine Street Report [http://vinestreetreport.blogspot.com/] from his home on Vine Street in Monroe, MI. In April 2015, he resumed writing from his new residence on Woodchuck Creek [http://woodchuckcreek.blogspot.com/] south of Monroe in the township.

Ernie is also the founder of Looking Forward Production Group, a small group of progressives living in Monroe, Michigan working to make local, progressive issues more visible by producing short videos since 2012. Our group is a supporting member of Monroe Public Access Cable Television. Some of our videos can be found on this channel.

Finally, Ernie is politically active. He has been active in the Democratic Party since 2011 and has served as a past-treasurer of the county party, past-secretary of the district party, a past member of the county board of canvassers, a 2016 Bernie Sanders convention delegate and was a 2018 candidate for Michigan State Representative.
